The Digital Lane Strangler was the first major storyline introduced within the fan-fiction soap opera series, Digital Lane. It began on 27 November 2013 in which Frankie Cole (Wallis Day) was attacked by an unknown person, the aftermath featuring in the second episode.

Suspects and motives[edit | edit source]

Drew Ross[edit | edit source]

Drew Ross (Tom Felton) was Frankie's boyfriend at the time of the attack, who found out that she had followed him and caught him dealing drugs to Brad Foster (Luke Youngblood). Following the attack, Drew began acting suspicious around Digital Lane.

Brad Foster[edit | edit source]

Frankie caught Brad dealing drugs to her boyfriend, Drew Ross, before he noticed she had followed the two. He wished to keep the drug dealing a secret from his family, which could have thus brought on the attack. It was later revealed that he had run over Jake Potter (Niall Wright).

Other suspects[edit | edit source]

Peter Young, Ant Henderson, Jake Potter, Dwayne Foster, Karl Gibson and Oliver Potter were all listed as possible suspects on 8 December 2013.

Development[edit | edit source]

Following the episode dated 29 November 2013, Wallis Day confirmed the storyline in an interview with Digital Spy:

“The identity of the strangler will be quite a long running storyline, it’s the first big story for the soap. I’ve really enjoyed filming the twists and turns in the story. Working with the great Ann Mitchell and Tom Felton has been such a bonus! I really enjoy getting to work with them.”
