Plot[edit | edit source]

Wendy and Jack Cole are sitting by their granddaughter’s bedside after tragic events on a once ‘safe’ suburban neighbourhood. Frankie lies motionless in a coma and no one knows when she will awake, or if she will ever open her eyes again. The nurse walks in and tells Wendy and Jack that the doctors are monitoring her and hope she will awaken soon. She also tells them the police are in the corridor and want to ask a few questions. Wendy looks at Jack nervously as she walks out of the room.

Luisa gives her family their breakfast at the table and smiles looking at her perfect husband and daughter. Her smile quickly fades as Peter staggers in hangover from the night before. He pours a glass of milk but ends up pouring it everywhere. Luisa looks at Mark with disgust and tells him to tell Peter to stop. Peter throws the empty carton at Luisa and tells her to pick it up because she is a maid. Luisa glares at Mark as she storms out the room. Rose puts her head down and eats her toast.

Gracie is drying her hair in front of the mirror when she receives a text from Ant. Gracie puts her hair in a ponytail and grabs her coat. She walks out of the house and goes down to the business district.

Wendy sits in a dark room, alone with her thoughts while she waits on the police to come. She thinks about what happened on Wednesday night. She tells herself she will never put Frankie in danger again. 2 police officers walk in and take a seat. Wendy looks up nervously and shaking as she tries to drink her water. The police officer asks her what happened on Wednesday evening. Wendy tells them she was going to bed when Frankie walked in, it was quite late and she asked her to take out the bins. The police officer says, “Did you not notice Frankie didn’t come back in?” and Wendy tells them she isn’t exactly a light sleeper. The police then ask her if anyone had a reason to do that to Frankie, but as hard as Wendy tries to think, she can’t.

Gracie stands under a tree in front of the nightclub waiting on Ant. Her mother shouts on her from across the street and asks her to help her take some boxes in. Gracie looks around for Ant but there is no sign. She runs over and lifts up a box and goes inside the cake shop. Ant emerges from behind the Estate Agents, with a gun.

Luisa sits in the bedroom depressed after what had happened. She hears the door slam and she rushes to the window hoping it would be Peter leaving, but instead it is Mark going out for a beer with the lads. Luisa sighs as she watches her husband walk down the lane. She jumps when she hears a voice. “You alright?” Peter says to her. She turns around and glares. “I’m fine, no thanks to you.” She tells him. Peter walks in and apologises for his behavior. Luisa makes the bed and tells him she wants him out. Peter slowly walks over to Luisa and turns on the charm. “You don’t really want me gone. Your just saying that because you know you can’t have me.” He says as he gently touches her arm. Luisa pushes him away and tells him that he couldn’t be more wrong. Peter again slowly walks towards her. They look into each other’s eyes and see how much they hate each other. Peter passionately kisses Luisa. Luisa looks at him and kisses him back. Moments later, they end up on the bed passionately kissing each other.

Stephanie tells Jamie to look after his dad as he is in a bad place right now while she is on the neighbourhood watch. She walks out to meet Christine. They both start walking down a dark and quiet Digital Lane. Stephanie tells Christine that the lane was always a safe place and that strangling isn’t a regular thing. Christine smiles and says she couldn’t be happier here.

In the nightclub, the youth are partying and having a wild night. Gracie sits with an orange juice after being offered vodka numerous times. Gracie looks over and sees Ant coming into the nightclub. She runs over and takes him into the manager’s office. Gracie asks why he didn’t show earlier and Ant doesn’t reply. Gracie notices that Ant’s mind is somewhere else. “Tell me! I want answers. What are we going to do about this baby?” Ant pulls out his gun and points it at Gracie’s stomach. Gracie freezes and goes quiet. Ant tells her there shouldn’t be a baby in the first place. It’s all a mistake and it needs to go now. Gracie tells him this isn’t the way to do it. Ant tells her to shut up before slamming her against the wall. Eve Barrett hears the slam and rushes starts banging the door. Gracie tells him they need to tell their parents. Ant tells her that is the silliest thing he has ever heard. Gracie tells him that if they tell them maybe they will know what to do. Ant has a sudden change of heart and agrees. He puts the gun away and Gracie takes a deep breath. They open the door to a surprised Eve seeing them together. “I thought you were…” “Don’t ask.” Ant says as he walks out the nightclub.

Luisa and Peter lie in bed together cuddling. Luisa gets up and regrets it instantly. She tells him that it’s time for him to go. A nervous Peter picks up his clothes and walks out. Luisa looks over at a picture of her, Mark and Rose and sighs.
